Mike Rose is an in-demand home renovation expert and a familiar face to HGTV fans for his multi-season role as the General Contractor on the hit series Christina on the Coast. On screen he helps bring incredible home renovation designs to life. As the driving force behind his company MTR Construction, Mike transforms ordinary spaces into extraordinary structures, and has built a reputation for delivering top-notch craftsmanship, innovative design, and exceptional client satisfaction.
Fueled by a lifelong interest in building things, Mike began working in construction right after high school. He continued for 10 years, rising quickly through the ranks and ultimately working for some of the largest developers in the country before earning his General Contractors license and going out on his own. (He later earned specialty licenses in concrete (C-8) and electrical (C-10).
Mike started MTR Construction in 2007 with the goal of providing a higher level of customer service for clients wanting to build homes or reimagine existing ones. His commitment to make the process a stress-free experience for homeowners is reflected in MTR Construction’s Design-Build Method, which affords clients the convenience of having access to all the home experts they need through one company.
An in-house architect and designer expertly customize plans to fit the renovation goals of homeowners while also making sure the plans fit their budgets. MTR Construction first caught the attention of Hollywood in 2016, when HGTV hired Mike and his team to work on the show House Hunters Renovation. That led to Mike working on HGTV’s long-running hit series Christina on the Coast, and his multi-season role as the show’s featured General Contractor. With 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Mike has dedicated his career to creating exceptional home transformations – on screen and off.
A longtime resident of Long Beach, CA, Mike enjoys spending his free time with his wife and children. He is actively involved in his community and has sponsored the Long Beach School District, the Long Beach Fire Department and Long Beach baseball and football programs. MTR Construction is located in nearby Signal Hill, CA.
